Exterior Cleaning & Sealing · Residential & Commercial
Washed, sealed, and stained
Exterior cleaning, driveway sealing and deck staining, the maintenance that decides how long the expensive things last.
What this covers
This group is about surfaces that are already there and are quietly deteriorating. None of it changes what a property has. All of it changes how long what it has will last.
Exterior cleaning is the fastest visible change we can make to a building. Years of growth and grime come off siding, walkways and patios, and a house that looked tired usually turns out to have been clean underneath the whole time.
Driveway sealing is preventative and the timing matters more than people expect. Sealing a surface that has already opened up locks the damage in; sealing it before then is what buys the years. We will tell you which side of that line your driveway is on, including when the answer is that you have left it too long.
Deck staining is the same argument in wood. A deck that is stripped and stained on a sensible cycle stays a deck. One that is left goes grey, then soft, then it is a rebuild, which is a hardscaping job and a much bigger number.

Questions
Exterior Cleaning & Sealing, answered
- How often should a driveway be sealed?
- It depends on the surface, the traffic and how much sun it takes, which is why we would rather look at yours than print a number here. What we will tell you straight is when sealing is no longer the right answer, because sealing over damage locks it in rather than fixing it.
- Will pressure washing damage my siding?
- It can, in the wrong hands and at the wrong pressure, and that is the honest answer. The approach depends on the material, what is safe on concrete is not safe on older siding. Tell us what the building is made of and we will tell you how we would clean it.
- Can you stain a deck that has already gone grey?
- Usually, yes, grey is surface weathering and it comes off before the stain goes on. What cannot be fixed with stain is soft wood, and if boards have gone past staining we will say so rather than paint over it.
- Do you do this for commercial properties?
- Yes. Exterior cleaning in particular tends to matter more commercially, because a building's frontage is the first thing a customer reads about the business inside it.
